The first step towards change



Change- It is something we speak of so often.

It easily falls from our lips.

 

But how is it that days, weeks, months pass us by before we actually do it?

Why is CHANGE so incredibly challenging, when we know it is absolutely necessary to achieve what we most desire?

We have these aspirations and goals- but what we momentarily want is what’s easy, comfortable, & familiar.

 

Because with change comes great difficulty, discomfort, and risk.

Change arrives with the NEW. And the new can be…unpredictable.

 

Our fear of uncertainty & fear of failure hinder our ability to transform at the rate we like.

 

But fear is inevitable. In its simplest form, it’s nothing but a healthy normal, human response to work in our favor. However, most often it does not work in our favor. Rather, it limits and paralyzes us.


The first step to CHANGE is to acknowledge what you’re afraid of.

 

Recognize your fear, accept its existence.

Instead of fighting against fear, move forward alongside it.

Walk beside whatever scares you.

Look fear in the eyes and say, “You are not in control. I am”.

 

Decide again & again that your END GOAL of CHANGE is what you want, more than the security of your current state of being.


Your future self will thank you.
